A local in Anson County, North Carolina, went out one sunny day when they saw a green canister sitting on the edge of the woods. A little confused and curious, they moved closer to the bin to see what was in there and were shocked to find five little puppies.
The puppies were so young and very small to crawl out of the big bin themselves, which means that somebody placed them inside there and cruelly dumped them. They were trapped in the box, under the 90-degree temperature, and if they have been left in that place much longer, they certainly would not have made it.
Immediately the Good Samaritan took a cage and put all the pups inside and gave them some water and food. Then, they were turned over into the hands of the Rescue Dogs Rock NYC’s vet partner located in Columbia of South Carolina.
Jackie O’Sullivan who is the co-founder of the mentioned rescue organization said that the puppies were so frail and had a “funny” odor. She also shared that one of the puppies was not in good condition, so they worried about parvo; however, after baths, proper nutrition, and more fluids, all of the puppies were doing better.
The tiny puppies were detected to be six weeks old of age and were later named Snoopy, Sullivan, Simon, Sassafrass, and Sanders. After being dewormed, immunized, and treated with some medications and fluids, the little puppies were doing ok and starting to grow. Everybody at the rescue center is so grateful for the good-hearted person who rescued their lives.
O’Sullivan said that the puppies were lucky to be found just in time. They still have more things to go before they are available for adoption, yet individuals are welcome to begin applying for them.
They are currently receiving the most appropriate care, and the moment they are already active, they can go off and have their permanent homes where they will never fear of being abandoned again.
